Tracking The Elusive Pot Lady

On the way home from grocery shopping yesterday, we spotted thses tracks. Shawn and I couldn't help but wonder....Could it be.....The Elusive Pot Lady?
We were astonished at our luck! Since little is actually known about the rare and Elusive Pot Lady, to actually find evidence of feeding behaviour was more than we could have hoped for. It sparked a debate between Shawn and myself. I firmly believe
that she is a hunter gatherer, (as my evidence here clearly shows). Shawn surmises that she is merely a scavenger.
The change in seasons may also have have an effect on her daily routine. We noticed that with the advent of warmer weather, she traded her metal pot for a plastic bowl, and slippers for bare feet. Instead of merely drinking water, she was eating a meal of rice.

The easily startled EPL darted into the shadows when I pulled out my cell phone. Experts believe this to be the only existing photo.

Does she have two right feet? That footprint picture freaks me out a bit... :)

Marni - LOL! No, but it looks like it! I was wondering if anyone would comment on it. There was a set of footprints, and then a 3 rd print beside it. I couldn't fit all 3 into the frame, so I just went with this one.
This is the 1st time that I have seen her since I mentioned her on my blog.

GAHHHHHH!!!!!

(Oh man I love this post- this is brilliant!)

What the heck is in the plastic bag???

Please gather more data! We'll get you some camoflage so you can better hide behind bushes and do more research!

Heidi - THAT is the response that we were hoping for! I say we because Shawn is home again today....His last day home.
Shawn thinks that we need something like a duck blind.
The plastic bag...She was making rice in a puddle by the side of the road, I kid you not. She ran like the wind when I pulled my cell phone out!

Arrrgghhh! Rice in a puddle? On the side of the road?! Bless her crazy, crazy heart...

Marni - She lives up the street somewhere. She is NOT homeless, just a bit confused, I think. I do feel badly for her. Sh eseems very lonely.

i don't even know what to say....

Dilling - Take it with a grain of salt. She is just one of the many characters that wanders our hood.
If I don't laugh about it, I'll cry. You know how it is........

mmm. Puddle rice.

Crap, that was crusty and mean of me.

What I meant to say was, i hope she's okay and what a shame that some people are so marginalized by society.

Seriously.

And also you should use some garbage cans as a duck blind.

You know, really, most of us a just a few short steps away from being EPL.

(Come over to my blog and say hi to my mom!)

Very strange... Yet I am still intrigued.

Heidi - I think that she is a crack head. That is what seems to add to her confusion. I dunno.
I guess that I'm crusty and mean because I think that I will watch her again. I will watch her from my front porch, and from behind garbage cans, and while walking my dog.
I suck.
Speaking of Ruby, she turned one on Saturday.

whimsical - Exactly!

4D - Yes! The last photo was alot like the shaking video footage from the 60's - at least thats' what Shawn and I thought.
Like I said, only known photo.

You could sell that photo, much like the photos for the Loch Ness monster or big foot...

That photo freaked me out before I even started reading your post. Her toes look startled.

I know an elusive pot lady too, but she's a lot different. The pot lady I know specializes in botany.

Pot Lady?
Is that something like a Bag Lady? Or when you say pot, do you mean that she enjoys a little smoke from time to time? She was making rice in a puddle...oh my.

Biddie said...

ldbug - LOL! Shawn loved that idea! I'm always looking for a way to make a buck or two....

tod - It looks like 2 right feet, but there's a left one in there somewhere...I love the photo, tho.

cindydianne - Are these suits expensive? Until I sell a couple of photos, I'm kinda strapped for cash. :)

Corky - This pot lady may be into other kinds of pot, but I don'tthink that's her thing. I don't think that she's into botany - unless rice counts. You grow it, right?

mjd - Not a bag lady, exactly. She lives somewhere up the street from me. She likes to carry around a metal pot of water most days. She walks to one house, fills it up, drinks some, dumps it out, fills it up at another house...it goes on forever...

Heidi the Hick said...

At least she keeps busy.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY RUBY!!!

Biddie said...

Heidi - True. Who am I to judge her? At least she leaves her house.

Glad that you liked the photos. Come back any time!

What really disturbs me about the elusive pot lady is that she has two of the same legs - or one is on backwards. :)

gardenia - I know! isn't it scary?!
