True to his word, Shawn took Kayla and I to see Mama Mia. I had a great time and knew most of the words to every song. Shhh, don`t tell, I think that Shawn did, too.
I loved the actors and they all gave it the old college try when it came to the soundtrack. I must admit, it was odd to see a former James Bond singing and dancing to ABBA.
I think that my favourite part of the whole night was when we getting ready to leave.
Three women that had been sitting in the row across from us were discussing the film, as they watched the credits roll. One woman turns to the other two and exclaims
Oh My Gawd. I totally knew that these songs all sounded like ABBA.
Nuff said. It made my night :)

Oh how bloody funny am afraid I would have cracked up in front of them!
It is on my list of films to see have heard so many good reviews of it, and you never know Terry might take me to the pictures to see it, mind you he will probably wait for it to come on Sky first!!

It looks like they managed to keep to the spirit of the stage show which is excellent.

I'm glad you had fun.

And I am having a bit of trouble picturing Mr. Brosnan singing and dancing.

lw - I did crack up, rather loudly. I doubt that they had any idea why I was laughing, though. Not real smart these ladies.
If you are an ABBA fan, you will love this movie. It was so much fun and I was in need of a light hearted evening.

Tod - We don't mention the stage show in our house. I had a ticket for a show in Toronto and my 'friend' sold my ticket.
I never fully recovered.

Burfica - Our city is not huge, just big enough that we get most of the good movies. Thank goodness b/c that is pretty much al that we do for fun.
It really was an excellent film.

heidi - LOL. Thanx for that! I grew up listening to ABBA. Still love them. They are a guilty pleasure, much like The New Kids.

Whim - He was a pretty bad singer, but it was all good fun. He still looks pretty good, too :)

ABBA is not a guilty pleasure for me! I love them, guilt or no! Even though I'm supposedly a grown up.

But those clueless ladies... man, I live under a rock and I still know what the show's about!

heather -
No wonder we have been friends for so long. We have so much in common!
I wish that we lived in the same city so that we could watch movies together...One of these days, maybe :)

heidi - LOL. Those ladies made my night. No question.
I have loved ABBA since..forever. It was the first tape that I had in my walkman. I know, you can say it...I was soo cool!

I have been thinking about seeing this - however grandson has bankrupted me with the Black Knight and Journey to the Center of the Earth in one week, which I have slept off and on through....and thanking my lucky stars that he wasn't kidnapped as I dozed.......

Well, I finally got to see Mamma Mia - I sat through it twice - I LOVED it - it was awesome, delightful, and the cast was having such fun making the movie that it just sparkled.

I'm not sure if I want to see that movie or not. Burf hasn't refined me enough to see musicals she doesn't force me to watch that I end up liking. :-)
