Updates, Rants, and Headclogging Crap

Henry and the babies are doing well. The little ones are 2 weeks old now, and have become tiny hopping furballs. They are all living together again, and Henry is feeding them on their own. I took a photo of "Skippybunny" in mid hop. Isn't she just the cutest? KC named her that because Skippy is promising to drive down in a few months and get her.
I go to get finger printed on March 16th. I have an appointment, just like going to see your family doctor. I go to court on April 3rd. I am seriously considering just pleading guilty to stealing the fricking cheese. If it goes to trial, it could drag on for months. I think that the worst I will get is probation anyway, maybe a fine. Maybe, the judge will look at the whole thing and throw it out. Maybe. I can hope, can't I? I just don't want this thing dragging on into the end of May. TMOC is getting married then, and Lucky is coming up from Colorado. She is planning on flying in to Toronto, and then renting a van so that we can all go together. It's the only way that I'll be able to go. It's more than just the wedding though. See, my kids have never met her kids, and I have never met them, either. Lucky and I have only ever had about 2 days to visit, and I miss her terribly. My neice and KC are both 19 now, and we don't know how often we'll have a chance like this again. KK and my nephew are super close, and they are positively DYING to finally meet. I just want to see my sister. I want Heidi to meet my sister, and want to create some real family memories, not just emails or long phone conversations. I want a photo of all of cousins together, a photo of Lucky, TMOC and me.
Shawn is back to work today. He's with a new company now, and will be making about $10 less an hour. Ouch. We weren't exactly rolling in dough before, but it sure beats the big fat $0 that he has been making. He hasn't been fulltime since before Christmas, and we are dangerously behind on bills. Besides, he HATES doing nothing, not working everyday. I am just happy that he is back to doing what he loves. A happy Shawn makes for a happy house.
Do you remember KC telling you about the cabbie that assaulted her and tried to steal my cell phone from her? It happened on the day that Shawn went to pay the ginormous gas bill, December 8th. Well, we heard back from the detective in charge of the case, and the cabbie is being charged with assault and robbery. Neither KC nor Shawn have to testify, but Shawn has opted to give a victim impact statement. I can't wait for this! The trial starts on April 13th, and I plan on being there. We are finally being taken seriously, and more importantly, this creep won't get the chance to terrorize another person again. At the very least, he will lose his taxi lisence, even though he is the owner of the car.
We got dumped on again on the 14th. More snow. It is so deep that Porky won't even leave the front porch, and Ruby won't go out. At all. Unless she thinks the Pug might be out there. Hey, I do what I have to, ok? I almost had a stroke when I went out shovelling with KK last night. I would've been pissed if I would've missed Supernatural and ER because of a stupid stroke. I almost cut my baby toe off once, and it was during ER. I didn't want to go to the hospital until it was over. My x made me go right away, and of course I missed Dr. Carter and what'shername getting attacked by the crazy knife weilding patient. Never again, I tell you. I'm planning my accidents better now.
Anyway, KK has finally emerged from her room. It must be close to feeding time. Gotta run, motherhood calls.
Later.

Awwww....is that the Porcupine's $350 bunny? How sweeeet! [For those not in the know - Passports for us to drive into Canada are $70 a piece - hee....so this bunny is costing us a bucketfull giggle!]
Worth every penny tho' if I get to see Bid, Hubby & the girls! Woohoo..roadtrip!

Now...you cannot plead guilty to something you didn't do. Seriously Bid, hang in there. I know you are scared, but you don't want to lose your license, do you? And for what? Something you DIDN'T DO... I swear I bet the cop takes your side...have you thought about contacting him and asking him what his thoughts are? Hugs for that and hang in there.

Good News on the taxi driver. I hope that jerk DOES get jail time...I read a lot of cabbie blogs and I realize that is a hard job, but you NEVER EVER put your hands on a passenger, let alone a young girl. So prayers with y'all.

I will give you a call later!
[thanks for the pic & we LOVE the name!]

Hiya, Skip,
I haven't made up my mind yet on the whole cheese incident. I just want to get this thing over with. I don't want to miss a visit with my sister because I'm going to court over the freaking cheese thing. I just don't know what to do yet. I keep hoping that it will all diappear, but it won't.
Yup, that's your bunny. Isn't she the cutest? They seem to be doing well, and now that they are back with Henry, we don't have to feed them. KC dubbed the baby bunny Skippy, so I've been calling her Skippybunny. KK calls the black one Spazz, and the poor gray one is nameless.

I have to agree with Skippy- it just isn't right to plead guilty to something you didn't do. I think you should try to contact somebody about it too. I know it's a huge thing and I'd be losing my mind over it too, believe me. I had to make a phone call to Saskatoon yesterday just for a stupid hotel room and it took me SIX HOURS to get up the guts to call. But I really want you to be able to keep your license!

I'm also glad that Shawn's doing a victim impact statement.

Please don't give us a bunny. Please. don't even suggest it because I'll melt.

Heidi - I don't know what i'll do about the court thing yet. I just got a letter from their head office stating that I owe $325 for the theft. HUH. Since I didn't really take anything, is it REALLY a theft. Like I'm not paying enough.
Sooo...do you know someone that WILL take a bunny? Just asking.

dilling said...

don't plead guilty...it is ridiculous. And you should write a letter to the store tellling you aren't paying ANYTHING before court. Ass-hats.
i can't help you with the bunny...emma was used to hunt them in Newfoundland and she goes BONKERS whenever she sees/smells one...my Maggie? The full-bred beagle? She loved them. In a kind way. Her good friend, Clover, was a bunny. I should send a photo...too cute.

Biddie said...

dilling - I might post a copy of the letter that they sent me. The truth is, I can't pay that money. I don't even have bus fare for the next little while, and $$ will continue to be tight for the next few months. We'll manage, but it might as well be a million bucks that they're asking for. Besides, I HAVEN'T been found guilty. at least not yet. It seems very unfair that they can do this.
I would love to see a photo of Maggie and Clover. Too bad there's no room for a bunny in your house. I have one that is like an attack rabbit, no kidding. She would keep the undesirables at bay!

bunnies look great, send one in the post to me. i wish.
a big NO to pleading guilty, you will come out on top of this!
great news on the cabbie, glad he will loose his license.

too right you cant afford to miss ER!!

Biddie said...

her indoors - Hmmm...I wonder how much to send a bunny to you....Still pondering the court thing, I haven't decided what to do. Glad to see we have another ER fan in our midst.

I couldn't believe when I read your post about the cheese "theft". That is the most outrageous miscarriage of justice I've ever heard of. I'd be shouting it from the rooftops, or at least calling our local news legal guru about it. They should be ashamed of themselves for making a simple oversight into a huge legal matter. It's a mistake anybody could have made.
Don't plead guilty. You didn't do anything wrong. They could have simply come to you and asked about the cheese, you would have apologized for the oversight, paid for it and it would have been over. Don't give the little twit who blew this out of proportion the satisfaction of pleading guilty to this stupidity.

Please don't plead guilty to something you are not guilty of. I know it may be harder in the long run but standing up for your innocence is the right thing to do.

I'm glad your Husband is back at work although I hope he finds something else with better pay soon.

Sorry about your toe.

Don't do the time if you didn't do the crime, as they say. Don't plead, fight, it's worth it!

Ann - Hi, Ann! I am undecided as to how I am going to handle the whole cheese thing. I don't want to plead guilty, but I don't want to miss my brothers wedding in May. It's in Cape Breton, and I'm in Ontario. A trial could drag on for MONTHS.
I offered to pay for the stuff that was in my cart, but the security guard was adamant that I be made to pay...by being arrested. I really feel like the whole thing was taken too far. This is the same company that I used to work for, too.
Thanks for the support.

whimsical - Still not too sure of how the whole court thing will go down. I am so glad that Shawn is back at work. A pay cut sucks, but a job rocks. We are so far behind at this point, I am happy that he is working at all.
Are you leaving for you mom's house soon? Good luck!
My toe? That was about 6 or 7 years ago. No biggie. I pulled the stitches out myself, and it was good to go. Thanks, tho!

stinkypaw - I have to contact a lawyer, and see what he suggests I do. Like I said, I just don't want to miss the wedding because of a trial. The great cheese trial of '07'
Sad.

Wow - and I thought my life was bad with the Sheriff at my door with court papers in response to a request for a hearing for cause on my dismissal.....and umpteen followup mailings, and the State down loading pages off my blog, and my email address being "associated" with another account, and a needed surgery I haven't time for - at least I haven't severed any limbs yet. (And I'm too far away from WY for a "hit" by the minions)..... Or run across any psycho taxi drivers recently - I'm awed by your perserverence in this - and may your outcome be what you hope for!

You didn't do it therefore you don't plead guilty. You stand up and say "I didn't do it". You then totally ignore owt they say apart from "Not guilty". If they say owt else you reply "Bollocks".

Aww, Skippy is cute. You watch ER and not Grey's Anatomy? Meredith drowned in Thursday night's episode. Of course, she has to be revived because she is Meredith Grey. However, we left Meredith Thursday night on a gurney seeing a bright light and dead people.

Biddie said...

Gardenia - Severed limbs might be stretching it. It was just a baby toe, and I really could have lived without it. I was more upset about missing ER.
The taxi driver thing incident is really KC and Shawn's story. I still can't believe that it really happened. I hope that he never works again, cuz this guy really is psycho.
I am super stressed out over the whole court proceedings. I just can't believe that it has gone this far.
I hope that you are feeling a little more settled now that you are home again.

Biddie said...

4D - You make it sound so easy! I really think that this thing is ridiculous. The security guard should've just stopped me when she saw leaving the cash registers. I used to work for the same grocery chain, and that's what I would've done. I would'nt call security or make a big deal out of forgotten items. I hope that I have the courage to stand up and tell my story, but it doesn't look that way....

mjd - I have never seen an episode of Grey's Anatomy. I think that I know the person that you are referring to, though. I do like Patrick Demsey, but I have liked him since the 80's when he was geeky and uncool.
You'll have to let me what happens to Meredith.

SkippyMom said...

Dilling is right Bid. Send them a letter [and if you don't want to write it send me an email with their letter and I will write it for you, 'kay - I am good at this letter writing thingy.]

It is unanimous - do not plead...and how are you going to miss your brother's wedding even if you go to trial? Even if they did find you guilty, which they won't, do you actually think they are going to put you in jail for a block of cheese & some pens? I don't think so, especially when your record is clean [right?] and you are a PSW [right?] - and you have the girls to take care of.

Don't worry about your brother's wedding - it will be okay.

Hugs always -

Call me!!!!!

Biddie said...

Skippy - I am NOT worried about jail. I know that they COULD put me away for stealing cheese, but will they? No. The thing is, if I plead guilty, then there is no trial. No trial, and I am in and out. If I go to trial, then it could, and will drag on for months, well into the summer. THAT is how I will miss the wedding and my sisters visit. Trust me, it will drag on. I just have too much on my plate right now to deal with thie crap - and it is crap. That is why I might just say f*#k it, and plead it out. I dunno.
Anyway, thanks, for the support.

I'm glad that the cab driver is getting what he deserves!

Don't plead guilty! When the judge sees that you don't have a criminal record he'll probably laugh the charge out of the court.

Biddie said...

Corky - Of course, that's what I'm hoping for. I just don't want this thing to dragged out for months and months. I'll let you know what happens with the cabbie. I plan on being there for his trial.

Michael Colvin said...

I say a big NO to pleading guilty! Especially to CHEESE THEFT! LoL!

Molly said...

I am catching up. I missed your entry about the unfortunate cheese event. Sheesh, you were arrested for swiping cheese after you had paid for your other groceries. This was clearly a mistake. If you wanted to steal something, I am sure that it would be something other than cheese. Furthermore, I am sure that lots of people have made the very same mistake. In fact, I am rather sure that I have left the store without paying for my milk because I usually put the milk on the bottom rack. Don't plead guilty; it was obvoiusly a mistake!!!

Biddie said...

Tod - I just really don't want this whole thing to drag on - and on. It could go on for MONTHS. It's all so stupid, really. I am going to speak with a lawyer before I plead ANYTHING.

mjd - I think that the security guards want to make an example of me. This whole thing could have been easily resolved by just letting me pay for the forgotten items. I feel so foolish and humiliated. I could lose my PSW license because of this. That's quite the example, if you ask me.
