Marni has tagged me to let you all know the 7 songs that I am most into right now. I really didn't WANT to do this, because then you will all know how much of a dork I really am. Since I was tagged, though, it's kinda like being triple dog-dared, and I have no choice.

Punk Rock 101 - Bowling For Soup

Kung - Fu fighting - Carl something or other. I feel badly, because this guy had one massive hit, and I can't remember his name.

Sweet Home Alabama - Hubby refers to this as the redneck athem. I don't care. I LOVE it.

All The Small Things - Blink 182

Don't Leave Me this Way - The Communards - Just TRY to feel down while belting this out!

Raspberry Beret - Prince

Fuck Me Dead - The Forgotten Rebels

So, laugh away. It's all good. Let's see, who can I tag? I tag:

Tod

Dilling

And The Adult In Question

Carl Douglas. That's the name of Mr. Kung Fu Fighter!

LOL! You have eclectic taste! I've been listening to Bob Marley for two hours as I travel back & forth to therapy - it is giving me a huge craving for margueritas and laying on the beach...........which I could if I wanted to! Maybe tomorrow.

Gardenia - I tag you! my tastes are varied, alright. I have Abba on my MP3 player, too, and Carly Simon, and I would some Forgotten Rebels....Hubby loves Bob Marley. I like Jimmy Clff more.

I'm not going to laugh to hard at your list. There are some good songs on your list. Last night while my wife and I were out we heard Take On Me by A-Ha. Can't somebody somewhere do something to ensure that I never have to hear Take On Me again? Please.

That list's all right, as it happens. Well, except for Bowling For Soup. There's really no excuse for that.

I wonder if anybody else knows who the Forgotten REbels are. I hope they're not totally forgotten.

I"m really ashamed of my list now. WAaaaaay too much guyliner on that list. What happened to me? I used to listen to all kinds of stuff?

A good list! I have always thought Raspberry Beret was one of his best songs. I really like, "All The Small Things" too. As for "Fuck Me Dead" I can't say I know that one...lol!

mjd - What would be on your list?
I'm glad to see that you're back. we've got a lot of catching up to do.

captain corky - You don't like A- HA? Oh man, I thought that I knew you! How do you feel about kung-Fu Fighting?

asterisk - I LOVE Punk Rock 101, and 1985 by Bowling For Soup. I do. They're fun. Can't help but sing along to them.
Have you heard of The Forgotten Rebels? They're a small Canadian band, I thought that they were our little secret. I could send you a copy of some of their stuff if you like.

heidi - YOUR list? I was sweating it out, because I really don't listen to anyone hip, or cool. Your list is all newer bands, I barely know any music from thsi decade. These aren't my all time favs, just the songs that I am currently into. Most of all time favs are 80's pop/hairbands/crap.
I make no excuses for my bad taste.

Tod - you're tagged, so you can tell me all about your songs. FMD is by a Canadian punk band. They would never win a Juno, but I like 'em anyway.
I love Prince. I like his old stuff, the Prince years, not the Artist Formerly Known As...years.

I once petitioned Congress to change our national anthem from "The Star Spangled Yawner" to the Benevolent Carl Douglass Hit "Everybody Was Kung-Fu Fighting."

Biddie said...

her indoors - You've never heard of FMD? I'll have to send you a copy!
What are your fav songs?

beefcake almighty - That would have been SO cool! Everyone could do the cool moves that he did in his video! He was serious, man.

You should never ever apologize for your tunes!!!

As for my newer stuff on my list...well I'm going to get all cerebral and intelligent and claim that it's purely for research reasons. Gotta know what's going on eh?

Ha ha..

Because a 36 year old housewife would not be into Fall OUt Boy, right???????

Biddie said...

Heidi - I LOVE Fall Out Boy! I do. Unfortunately, my MP3 player holds about 30 songs, and I don't know how to add new ones, or take off the ones that I am tired of. That, and Shawn constantly has MY MP3.
SIGH.

You have great (and wide ranging) taste in music!

Biddie said...

whimsical - I don't know about GREAT, but it certainly is wide ranging. I love Neil diamond, too, and my kids are oh, so humiliated by that! Neil Diamond and punk..I love it all.

Molly said...

Let's see
My list would include
1. Norah Jones - Sunrise
2. Joan Jett - I Love Rock and Roll
3. Kansas - Dust in the Wind
4. Aerosmith - Dream On
5. Joan Osbourne - What If God Were One of Us
6. Simon and Garfunkel -The Boxer
7. Sara Evans - No Place That Far

and more

Biddie said...

mjd - Also a good list. Great list, actually. Hubby is a Simon and Garfunkel fan, and I love that Joan Osbourne song, too. I never pictured you as an Aerosmith fan, tho. That one was a surprise.

ldbug said...

Oh, those aren't silly choices!!

I like sweet home Alabama too. Back home we always change the words to sweet home MONTANA (and shout it every time...ahhh yes, we are dorks)

CindyDianne said...

When Bowling for Soup had just started getting radio play I used to get confused and call them Bowling for Chili. The Teenager would get so exasperated. So, of course, now that is all they get called by me. Even the girl knows I call Bowling for Soup by their much more appropriate and, I think, their more correct name of Bowling for Chili!

Michael Colvin said...

Well my 7 songs have changed already! Since you mentioned Raspberry Beret I downloaded Best of Prince at the weekend and have listened to nowt else. Sigh...I'm so fickle.

katy said...

nope never heard of FMD fav songs gosh i never remember what they are called ha love elvis, phil collins, cliff, queen, elton john but to name the songs would have to read the cd covers!

Biddie said...

ldbug - Now I'm singing Sweet Home Motana! It is catchy!

Cindydianne - Bowling for Chili it is then. I didn't want to like them, but they're just so much darn fun. I LOVE 1985. KC says that's cuz I'm stuck there...sigh....

Tod - my songs are ever changing, too. I almost put Glen Campbell on my list because Rhinestone Cowboy reminds of 'helping' my dad in his store when I was about 4. Just hearing that cheesey tune can bring me to tears, my fine fickle friend!

her indoors - I'm the same way with a lot of songs/music. I like Phil Collins, too, and Queen, some Elton John...Can't recall half of the songs, tho.

Thanks for the offer, Biddie. Maybe email me an mp3 or two, so I can get a flavour (address is on my homepage). Cheers.

Biddie said...

Asterisk - I'll see if one of kids can do that for me. I can email, and blog, after that, I'm remedial.
