It's been a craptastic week. I won't lie about that. Jessica spent Christmas Eve in the hospital, and it looks as though she will be there for New Years, too. We have had some good moments, though. We opened a couple of gifts on Christmas Eve, in Jessie's room. I can't recall what she is looking at here, but even with that IV in her arm, she is smiling. This is Kayla's happy face. It's true. She loves her new purse.
Gramma cried a bit when she opened her gift....A photo frame with a montage of happy family memories. She had a bit of a fall a few days earlier, so she is a bit beat up here. Still smiling, though.
KC in the new jammies that Spencer gave her.
Kayla and Jessica. They look like they are tired of having their pictures taken by now. You can see from the hand with the camera, that it does not deter a happy Gramma and Mom.
What a week it has been! We managed to have a wonderful Christmas, in spite of Jessica's illness. Boxing Day we spent with the Heidi family, in the cafeteria of the hospital. It was a lot of fun, and there were no distractions. Gabriel and Gaby stopped by, and Heidi and Jethro got to meet them. It was a great day, all in all, except for saying good bye to my baby at the end of the day.
I thought that we were home free when Jessica came home on Thursday afternoon. She seemed fine, but by Saturday evening, I knew that was too sick to stay home.....
Tonight, she is still feeling yucky, and when I left, she was thinking that she was going to start vomitting again. Her fever has been up and down all day, and she is still on the IV. The doctors and the nurses keep saying that it is just a bad flu, but it seeems way worse to me. I haven't seen her this sick in years.
It's hard to stay positive. There have been alot of tears. Mine, Kayla's KC's, and Jessica's. I hate that Jessica is feeling this way, and I hate leaving her at night. I can't help but wonder WHY. When is enough ENOUGH?

I'm so sorry, Biddie. And I feel guilty now, but I couldn't help feeling relieved when I read "doctors and nurses keep saying that it's just a bad flu"...
I know, she's feeling miserably; let's all pray she's going to be better soon.
gabriel - I am praying, day and night, that she will be home soon. It really does look like the flu, but that doesn't explain last week...She has gone from 83 lbs to 99 lbs, back down to 93. This is not what her little body needs.
Maybe tomorrow morning, when I get to the hospital, they will tell me that she can come home. I know that there are alot of people praying for her - here in our area, all over the world, really. It has to helping, right?
It sounds like you all made the most of your Christmas even though it was obviously not what you had planned for. The flu is REALLY BAD at the moment so I'm not surprised it has hit her for six. Hopefully she will be on the mend soon enough.
Thanks for sharing your pics with us Biddie! :)
Happy New Year to you all!
Glad the girl is home! That is the only way to start the new year right!
do the mitties fit ok??
you all are still in my prayers. Try to keep the faith biddie!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR to you and your family, Biddie! All the best to Jessica, we're still hoping and praying she'll get better real soon! Hope it just is a bad flu and nothing more serious. Just make sure you get lots of rest too. If is IS a bad flu, you'll need to be well rested to kick its ass when Jessica comes home!
I hope she gets better soon...take care and be good to each other, as always.
awwwwww my poor biddie...I am here catching up while I have been gone due to illness/injury. Thanks again for putting everything into perspective (whether that was your intent or not).
Hang in there honey...as always, know that I am here praying hard for y'all..
(((((((((((((hugs))))))))))
