Updates..September 8

Uncle Ned came by today. He was the contractor that Hubby worked for when he was at the haunted asylum. I asked him what happened to the place. His answer was this. The owner stiffed him for 60 grand and work was never completed. It still sits empty to this day.
Those of you who have been reading my stuff since the beginning know that since our move, we have stove-less. We have been bbq-ing like mad, and I am sick to death of weenies, burgers, and bbq chicken. All of that changed today with the arrival of our new Kenmore stove. Brand spanking new, we had to cut it out of the box. It was a gift from Uncle Ned and his wife, Mary. This is my brothers, uncle, mind you. How awesome are Ned and Mary?
No one has ever done anything like this for us before, and I don't know what to say...Thank you just doesn't seem like enough. Maybe a nice casserole, or a cheesecake?

Shout out to Ned and Mary!!! You fine folks are the absolute best!!! Spanakopita... yummie... chicken and black bean enchiladas!!!! Key Lime Pie!!!! One lovely cake or pie a month for a while, at least, I'd say...how does one LIVE without an oven?!? Gasp.
I am so jealous that you have a BRAND NEW STOVE...I have never had a new appliance before...in fact, anytime I have moved in somewhere(including here and we BOUGHT the place), we have had to clean the oven! Happy baking!!!!

Ned is the best. I LOVE baking, but I hate cooking, so living without an oven bites. You can do it, but it sucks.
This is my 1st new oven ever, too.I keep going into the kitchen just to admire it. It really is a thing of beauty. We had spaghetti tonight, 1st time in AGES. Must start baking...

Yeah stoves - boo cooking! My hubby cooks most of the time, too. I don't like it at all.

I have to admit though, he cooks a lot of stuff out of the "Box"... when I cook it is from scratch. Mine tastes a heck of a lot better.

Don't tell him though! ;)

Hey! Congrats on the shiny new oven. What a treat! Even better if hubby does the cooking. I am into eating rather than cooking. Luckily G does all that and he's good at it. Hoorah!

Unfortunately I'm good at cleaning. Not so hoorah!

Ah, that's just wonderful about the stove. We haven't had a stove for years up at my cabin in Oklahoma. Until about 4 months ago. Well, we had a stove that I bought at a auction for 15.00, but we didn't have the propane or gas to hook it up to. Now we do. I can't wait to get up there and cook some cornbread or something. No air conditioning, so we've been waiting for the heat to break.

That is a super cool thing for Uncle Ned and Mary to do for y'all!

Awesome.

todemesne- I am much better at eating, too, and not very good at cleaning.

cindydianne- you make cornbread? If my Hubby finds out about all of these wives that cook, I might be in trouble!

Awesome! Have fun!

During hurricane times we get quite acquainted with the grill, bonfires, or whatever! And can openers. Again, YAY! And have lots of fun cooking up a storm.
