Told You I wasn't Crazy

I was thinking that maybe I am just being paranoid. The whole thing with the bank account, that could just be a mistake, right?

Maybe.

I haven't been able to get a library card for years, because someone had a card in my name and never returned the books. It was NOT me. The card went to an address that I have never lived at, although the rest of the information seemed correct.

Then , there was the call from the out of town video store, telling me that I owed $50 in late fees and for a dvd that was never returned. The jerk off that had the account even used my phone number. Thing is, the video store is out of town, and we don't even have a car. I explained all of this to the clerk, and he told me that "I" had been in the store several times over the past months, renting movies. I asked for a description of the person, and I was told that was personal info, and they could not give it out.....

Well, last week, someone hacked into my email account. They even changed my secret question. I couldn't get into my own email for almost two days. It took me that long to figure out the new password.

I am a little freaked out now. I'm beginning to think that paranoia is just good thinking when someone is out to get you.......

That's not paranoia. Somebody has stolen your identity. That is absolutely terrible!!! You should really check your checking and other accounts ...

Sorry!

dorky dad - I don't have any other accounts right now. Thankfully. I wonder how I can find out who this is? I do have an idea....

Well yeah, we all know it's just good thinking...

Listen, I was rolling this through my head all weekend. It's just too weird. I mean, yeah, you're somewhat crazy but all these collection officers and irate people saying yo owe them, and that library card thing...either someone else with your exact name is causing problems, or somebody else is intentionally using your identity!!!

Good thing yo don't have any credit cards.

I kinda think maybe just maybe you should go to the police...

Sorry, Biddie! I honestly forgot to return the book, but the movie was so good I thought I would keep it. Didn't mean to cause you any worries, though.

If it makes you feel better, you can ride in my new car that you bought for me. You are such a sweetie.

So, here's the thing...
I have no proof of anything. I mean, the video store guy called me, but he never sent me anything in writing. In fact, he refused to give me any of the other Bridget's personal info, even though it was all in MY name, my address, my phone number.
The people at the library insist that it was me that had the card. I haven't had a library card since I was about 21. It is NOT me. They won't give me any info, either.
I did contact the police right after the video store incident, but they were largely uninterested. Like I said, I have no proof, really.
The people at the bank were no help, either. They just say that I had payroll deposits, and I took money out of the account. It's MY account, and all of the evidence points to me.
I am 99% certain that I know who is doing this. A certain someone has been using my name for a very long time. I just need the proof.
Heidi, I am SO thankful that I don't have any ccredit cards anymore!

Oh, and Coffeypot? You're welcome. Anything for you.

You must talk to the police, Biddie. Identity theft is a serious crime indeed. Any ideas? Somebody from the past? Hint?

Oh, and ask Coffeypot to return the car...

Yes, this does sound like identity theft.

We had stupidly printed all our info on our checks one time and the bank made a mistake and mailed the new ones to our house instead of p.o. Box. Therein began a nightmare.

It affected everything from my driver's license, my job, our credit, millions of trips to the bank and stores where checks were written (Walmart would not cash a check for $600.00 if I were crying and begging - but did they do this for a person who even spelled my name wrong when signing the check - yes they did.).

Then there was the story last Christmas when my email account was stolen for two weeks too. I knew who it was but couldn't prove it without spending money I didn't have.

It sounds as if you have an enemy out there or two...I agree with gabriel - report it to the police so they will have a record in case whoever is doing this has worse in mind.

Don't want to scare you but better safe than sorry.

Ugh, that's creepy!

Make sure your e-mail password and the answer to your secret question are impossible to guess next time...by ANYONE!

Man, you really have a problem there! Call the police again and demand help! They are there to "Serve and Protect". If you can't get anywhere with them, call your MPP. It's an election... they'll jump at the chance to show they actually DO something to deserve your vote! LOL!

I think phoenix has a great idea about calling your MPP..election time is a good time to get results..lol.

I have a hotmail addy that was hacked...and it scared the crap outta me I tell ya..really pissed me off too..

That really sucks! Could it be one of you ex's? Anybody who tries to steal my Captain Corky identity had better be careful, because first I will smite them and then the Lord will. ;)

Good luck. If I think of anythng creative, I'll let you know.
