I nearly forgot that yesterday was 10 years since Jessica was diagnosed. I can still remember that moment like it was just yesterday. She was just a chubby cheeked little three year old then.
So much has changed except for the fact that she is STILL insulin dependant.
Also, April is Autism Awarness Month
Autism is a neurological disorder that often affects communication skills. Nationwide, cases of the developmental disability are skyrocketing.
If you don't already know someone with autism, chances are you will eventually. It's estimated that every 21 seconds a child who will have autism is born.

She is growing up to be a beautiful young "woman".
Thanks for posting that on Autism B. Its great thinks are looking up for you. Yay!
Heather - Isn't she though? She hates when I post photos of her, but she is so cute.
I am just hoping that our luck holds out until Friday...Keep your fingers crossed for me!
OH..I really have to proof read before I post! lol
Things..meant to type.
*crossing fingers*!
LOL. No problem. I type the same way :)
She's a cutie! I love those glasses!
Cindydianne - Thank you :) I love those glasses, too, but of course, she hates them. It's good to 'see' you again!
WOOT! I'm glad you are still connected.
That is one lovely young lady.
I know too many kids afflicted with this...autism. I think it has something to do with environment or immunizations or something.....
I have to three good friends afflicted with insulin dependent diabetes - oh, would medicine advance in these areas.........soon.....I pray
Whim - I sure am glad to be here!
Thanks. I think so too.
Gardenia - I am praying for an advance in these areas, too.
10 years ago, we thought that diabetes research would be so much farther along....
Ten years. I will never forget that phone call.
Heidi - Sigh...
I can only remember bits and pieces after the doctor told me..I DO remember my Dad crying, and the words that TMOC said to me. Do you recall what he said? She was so little, and so sick...
Jessica goes back to see her Dr on Friday. I think that her weight is holding steady, and she looks good. That's a start :)
She does look cute in those glasses! :)
yipee so glad you still got cable/phone/internet. I so miss ya when you aren't about.
and yes she is a beauty, going to break some hearts is that girl.
and thanks for the award, i have a few i really must do a post with them! soon! honest!
She's a babe.
Autism has a massive scale. At the shallow end it has been suggested is Paul Gascoigne. Incredibly talented footballer but hasn't a clue how to cope with life in general. Could autism have a baring on him? Maybe.
The more obviously autistic are kids like my mates who throws unexpected wobblers in supermarkets and chucks bake bean tins around.
My nephew has Aspergers - which is autism related.
A couple of friends even suggested I might be at the lower end.
No. I'm just nuts.
Such a beautiful girl. She has a sweetness that comes through in the pic. I miss you and maybe I can call soon. I don't have Gage tonght. Baby Jody came home from hospital today. I ended up keeping Gage all day. I just couldn't leave her with a new baby and a wound up 3 yr old and go on my way. Took more pics of him where you can actually see him. The hospital ones he just looks like a blanket head. Like Michael Jacksons baby. LOL. Gage got to used to being with us and really thinks he lives here now. I feel bad about that.He is way too attached to grampa. I am sure he has already got mad more than once tonight and screamed "i want my grandma". But really, he wants grampa. love you, deb
That little girl of yours has the most beautiful eyes!
Glad you're still "connected" to us all! I've missed you!
