Biddie Van Winkle

I started on my new dose of Seriquel last night. I am now taking 4x the amount that I was taking. It always knocks me on my ass when I start a higher dose..I woke up 11 am, fell asleep on the couch watching The Jeffersons, switched couches, fell asleep watching Sandford and Son, (noonish) and then I was up around 1 until 2:30. Went back to bed, got up at 4:09.

I have managed to stay awake since then. This will be the pattern for at least a few more days... I am so tired of being tired already. Somebody wake me up in time for KC's graduation this Wednesday, please?

Oh man, that sucks! You missed Sanford and Son?

I'm taking Ativan before bed, but I have to take it before 9 or I'll sleep til 11 the next day. If I have to get up during the night I have to hang onto the walls or I'll fall over.

Yay drugs. Not.

Please take lots of pictures at grad. Or give Shawn the camera. That might be better.

Since my surgery I haven't been on any medication except my hormone patch and yay for those. But, last night I wasn't sleepy so KB gave me ONE tylenol PM and I am so druggy, drowsy and loopy this morning that I am not sure I can make the coffee....

Heidi - I only took 1/2 of what I was supposed to last night. I just couldn't face another 6 hour day.
I know that I need my meds and I will only get worse without them - plus, 'Quil is great for people that are bi polar and have racing thoughts. In another couple of weeks, I will be fine, but the first lil bit is always rough.
I have to lean on the walls, too. Once, a few months back, I nearly took out half of the Winter (cause Christmas was over) village. We nearly lost the Heidi/Jethro farm. Yikes.
You can bet that we will take lots of photos. She is only allowed to have two people there...how much does that suck? I wish that Jessica's grad was on a Friday, so that you could be there..Nope, it is a week from Wednesday...

Cindydianne - ONE? It usually takes an elephant tranq to get me down. I have a huge drug tolerance, but I am a bit wimp when I get hurt. Not the best combination.
I hope that you sleep better tonight. I HATE not feeling rested.

Hope the rough part is over soon - the Lyrica was doing a number on me too - sleepy, staggering about, dizzy - but mellow and less pain....

Have been in bed too - getting over the back venture at the hospital - but actually its been nice to lay around....

I never had any troubles with Serzone, but Prozac made me completely sleepless and hyper. I find it strange your doc isn't trying different meds rather than jacking the dose like that!

Great title. I hope that your sleeping evens out soon.

Hi! Yeah, I am around sort of. This little lappy top is a bit slow, but it works. The new system should be here on Monday, then I'll be flying about the blogosphere.

As for trimming fat o'friends...You would never be on that list. Ever. I actually wish you lived next door, so we could visit in real life.

I am just glad you have your meds. You will feel better soon. Sleep a little for me okay?

It sounds to me like you are taking a little too much Biddie.

If you can cut back a bit - or even if you can't - here's something for you to try.

Add fish oil. It comes in capsules and doesn't leave a taste. You can't take too much but it is very effective for bi-polar as well.
I have a doctor friend who is depressed etc. and he looked into this and now takes a ton of fishoil. It is the only thing he takes and he is much much better.

On my bad days I increase the amount of fish oil I usually take. It's worth a try.

Also - Vitamin B Complex is great for the brain. Take it at night before bed.

You won't be so drowsy the next day. I don't believe in sleeping all day because of meds. There is more to life than that and doctors have to realise it.

So, here's the deal....I will get used to the amount, after a few days. I always do. It just takes a few days (10 ish) to even out. I have been on 'quil before and I have taken 100 miligrams...But, I have only been taking about 50 up until recently.
I do not to sleep my life away, either. It sucks, and I feel guilty. It had been suggested to me to admit myself to the hospital for the duration, but I refuse to do that. I would be so depressed and I would bottom out. I would never make it out of there and I would miss Kc's and Jessica's grad. That is not an option.
I will try the fish oil. I have been taking more vitamins, too. Just trying to get over the hump.
Thanks for your concern, friends :)
And Camie? You would never be trimmed, either :)

Biddie--

I am so glad I came here to check ansd see if you had posted. For whatever reason, it didn't show up that you had posted and I had missed all of June!! I'm still here. So sorry for the glitch.

I say do what you doctor says. They went to med school for a reason. Don't try to figure it out on your own. The docs know what's best. If the sleepiness doesn't let up, give the doc a call, otherwise sleep away!!
