After bitching so much about Hubby's family, I was starting to feel a little guilty. I was thinking that they couldn't be all THAT bad. I mean, maybe was being too harsh.
We got a phone call from Hubby's eldest sis about 4 days ago. Hubby's mom is turning 80 and the family is having a big dinner at a resuarant on December 8 th...Wouldn't it be nice if everyone could be there? Now, I like this sister of Hubby's. We don't see her much, she stays out of the family conflicts, and she has always been nice to me. Hubby nixed the idea right away, but I told him that we should think about it. How bad could it be?
We were at Wal -Mart today (yes, yes, I love Wal-Mart), and we ran into another sister. He has 7, so it happens.....We were both waiting for rides...We were waiting for a taxi, she was waiting on Shawn's dad. Sure enough, Shawn's dad pulls up. When sis tellls him that we're waiting on a taxi, he waves, AND DRIVES AWAY.
Thanks, dad, you ass-hat. I guess that there will be 5 empty seats at the dinner table on the 8th.

When I lived in DC I used to work for a boss that would invite me to go to the mountains with him every year, and on Sundays when we got back into town he would always drop me off in front of the subway, with my duffle bags and fishing poles. I only lived 7 miles up the road! To put it nicely, I feel your pain.
PS. I really like your Christmas village. I always tell my wife that I'm going to build one, but right now we don't have the room.
Jeez, that's a bit much! Why are families such a pain at times?
Jerk.
I don't know what else to say!
Unbelievable...these folks have the empathy of a mop! I am sorry. I often have to remember when these wierd things happen, it is NOT about you or your immediate family - it is about them and their own misery - which they seem to like to stay in, and it just sort of spills out.......
that just makes my blood boil.
ASS-Hat is probably too kind. I have another word, but I am watching my language!
what a looser your probably better off without them, a little common politeness goes along long way.
UNREAL. I am absolutely speechless.
Self preservation baby...self preservation.
Asshat isn't strong enough a word for what he is. Sheesh, I've never seen people so self involved. Honestly, your better off without them.
yep ASS-HAT is one way to describe him and i can think of others too!
LMAO! I thought this was hilarious! But that's probably because I know them and I expect at least that.
Hi, guys,
Thanks for all of your support, and kind words...like ass hat! and jerk. I guess that I should just let this crap slide off of my back, but even after 5 years, it still gets to me.
You might have noticed that I accidentally used Hubby's name im post. Yes, yes, he is Shawn and I am Bridget. I am not worried about all of my bloggy friends, but you never know who will stop by. Damn lurkers.....
Ohhh, this post started out so full of promise. I was really rooting for a happy ending. Sorry for ya.
