I'm giving in to peer pressure, and I'm posting a photo. Please be nice...I was 3 sheets to the wind here. Hubby and I were at my cousin's wedding, a little over a year ago. It seems that I drank all of the gin that night...Me. Just me. Let's hear it for open bars!!!!

This is Charlie, our cockatiel, or as Hubby likes to call him, our cockatool. See him stomping through my Christmas village? Nice. Thanks, Charlie.

This is Bird. We used to call him Steve, but he answers simply to 'Bird.' He's a jerk. He screams when the phone rings, has been known to do fly bys on unsuspecting visitors, (and KK), and sometimes, just sometimes, will nest in my hair.

On a more serious note, I am taking J to see her endocrinologist tomorrow.....I am praying that she has put on more (enough) weight, and that we are one step closer to getting her the pump. It has been such a long wait. I'll keep you posted and let you know what the Dr. says....I'm sure that it'll be a lot!

dilling- yes, he lives indoors. he was rescued from a well meaning guy that thought he was was rescuing him...anyway, by the time that i got him he was 1/2 dead. he can't live on his own. he runs our house, and terrorizes the poor cat. thaks for the prayers...i'll mention to the doc about the info that you sent...

You have such a beautiful smile! Yay! I get to see my Biddie! :)

I'll be thinking about you and J tomorrow. Let us know how it goes.

Love, love, love the birds. I want one, but with the dogs and two guinea hogs I can't handle taking care of another breathing thing... but it is too cool that you have a bluejay in your house!

Heidi the Hick said...

That bluejay is a scream- literally!

You two are so cute in that picture. You look like you're trying very hard not to bust into a huge sloppy grin! And your Large Man is so cute. I love his hand on your shoulder. So gentle.

You're in my prayers tomorrow. xo

You both look like really nice people. Is the Christmas Village growing? It looks even bigger than the previous post! I hope everything goes OK tomorrow.

Biddie - you are beautiful and your guy is handsome - a lovely couple.

A freaking blue jay? OMG - I bet that thing is a holy terror! lol

Nice to see yer babe. By the way, handsome hubby n a grin on yer face like a cheshire cat. Life's good ain't it. x (n I bet the gin was too!)

4D - The gin was great! See the empties in front of Hubby? We had SO much fun..Good to see you back in action!

shewearsplaid - It's good to be seen!

Heidi - Yes, they are my real eyes...You love that story, don't you? We had so much fun that night. Did I tell you about the girl that left early b/c she couldn't stand to see another happy couple? Yes, we mocked her. I AM going to hell. The blue jay....I love him, he's a jerk.

her indoors - I would love to see your photo! Bird is a blue jay, I rescued him from someone that thought he was doing the right thing...We've had him since he was about one week old. I used to hand feed him from a spoon.....

cindydianne - Thanks for the compliments. I was so nervous about posting a photo. I hate any photos of myself. Bird....What a jerk. I love him, I've raised him from a baby. I wanted to set him free, but he can't live on his own. He terrorizes the cat, and completely runs the house. He knows how to get out of his cage on his own...He is so beautiful. He knows it.

Tod - The photo is from last Christmas. Charlie likes to stomp around like it's his village. I did get a new piece last week...and a fountain. It's pretty tacky with the lights and running water, but when the lights are out, it looks nice...

Marni - We have 3 birds, 2 dogs, 9 bunnies, a guinea hog, and a turtle. Hubby wants MORE birds. I told him sure, if you clean the cage..Thanks for your kind words.
J is doing ok. She put on 3 lbs, and looks healthier. Her cheeks are rosy, and she grew 1/2 a centemetre. We have to do some adjustments, change some things around, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I had feared.

Jo - Things are better, I'll do an update later. Thanks for keeping us in your thoughts...............

yeah the bird is no dummy...he knows a good thing and has no intention of giving it up!!

Hugs to J. So relieved it went better than the last one.

The bird is very sweet but do birds don't like their names?? I was thinking of giving a name for my parrot....can you just suggest some names for me..

You two make an adorable couple. I don't like Gin, but I like vodka. But I'm not allowed to drink vodka anymore (sloppy story). You're very brave, I've been blogging for over a year and have yet to post a picture.

btw, birds are obnoxious ;)

Yeah! A picture! It is official, the two of you look like a blast to hang with. It may be better for me to wait until I am not preggy...that way I can participate in ALL the fun.

:o)

hope all goes well with your girl.

Silly birds;-)

I read a new story

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/6110472.stm

Check it out, it's about a microchip that directly senses insulin levels in the pancreas....

Heidi - Bird will never leave...much like his name sake, he knows how to mooch!

fancy face - I always forget that you are from Ontario. It's nice to be seen....

Dilling - It went better than expected. I'll keep you posted on things as they happen. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that the pump is coming soon.

justin - Thanks for stopping by. I can't think of any bird names...That's how Bird got stuck with 'Bird' poor little guy!

Nonny - I don't drink very often. I also have some sloppy stories. I don't drink gin very often, either. My drink of choice is usually rum..Captain Morgan. He's an old friend.
It was a big step for me to post a photo. I hate all photos of myself. I do however, love the way Hubby looks in that photo. We had so much fun...

camie vog - We can be alot of fun. We only kick back a couple of times a year, tho. I am NOT a cheap drunk! I am a happy drunk, tho.
I would LOVE to kick back with you after baby vog is born.
J is doing better. Putting on even a little weight has made her cheeks rosy and she looks like my girl again.

ldbug - I couldn't find the article. I'll keep looking, and thanks for the heads up. Something has to change, and soon.

redneck nerdboy - I was thinking of stopping by your place today, and then you popped up here. (Cue spooky music). Bird is a jerk, but I think that he's here to stay.

Aren't most jays jerks? I don't think I've ever met one that wasn't.
