Home At Last

It's true. Jessica is home. I think that the phone call I made in the middle of the night saying that I was ready to sign my daughter out might have helped things along. I was a bit upset when Shawn had to walk home in -18 weather at 1:30 in the morning. Jessica woke up to being moved into a larger room - BUT since there was a teen age girl in there with Jess, he wasn't allowed to stay.

We all more than ready for her to come home. All they were doing was playing with her insulin levels. I think that her doctor will hit the roof when he finds out what has been done. It is all such a mess. They tried to fix in a couple of days what we have been working on for 10 years. I wonder if they even read her phone book sized file?

Anyway, her weight is up, her vital signs are stable, and she is home.

You know what else?

She's smiling again :)

woo hoo! she's home!
I thought her sugar levels had been fine, but it was all the other stuff gone wonky?

Dilling - Her bg's were fine, but she had lost too much weight from the flu, and that was stressing out her heart, and making her vitals unstable.
Once she was doing better, the doctors decided to fix her insulin. If they knew Jessica, then they would know that her bg's are all over the place. That is just the way it is. Her bg's are actually better than ever, but they wanted them to be perfect.
She is home now, and feeling great. She has been msn-ing her friends, and playing with Ruby.
Life is good :)

Yay, Jess! So glad you are now home! Your smile is beautiful.

I do not like medical establishment, but sometimes we have to go through them, I'm sorry Shawn didn't get to stay, it makes you feel better when you know someone is there.

Here's to a better year!

Relief. I hope she stays stable. It sucks to be in and out like that.

Cynnie - Let's hear it for great news! I hope that you have some coming your way, soon. Maybe 2008 will be a wonderful year for everyone :)

gardenia - It all worked out in the end. She's home now, thank goodness. Here's to a great 2008!

jorge - Your english is beautiful :) Thank you.

Heidi - She can't get the insulin pump until her numbers are better, over all, for awhile. They are much better, but she is still higher than we would like sometimes.
We are still considering it, but I doubt very much that the supplies would be covered.
Anyway, she's home, and we are all feeling so much better!

gabriel - I will! How are you feeling? I was just thinking of you. Will you be home tomorrow?

That's awesome, Biddie! Jessica is such a pretty girl, with such a beautiful smile, it's great that she is smiling more!

Is there any chance of filing a malpractise suit against the "replacement doctors"? If they didn't read her file, that is a serious breach of protocol! IT would be nice if you could get SOMETHING out of this... even if it was just stricter rules in the hospitals...

Hugs to you both!

I will be home tomorrow. But right now, I feel... OK. Still struggling to breathe a little.

rain - Me too :) Those dimples are killer.

jj~ I will. Thanks. :)

pheonix - I am sooo glad to have her back. I am not sure if the doctor did read her file, or not. It seems like they didn't, b/c if they had, they would have known how well she was doing. Her doctor refers to her as a '

brittle' diabetic, and we have been struggling with this 10 yrs.
I just want to be heard, more than anything. NO, I am not a doctor, but I am the mom. I DO know my daughter.
I will mention all of this to her doctor on Friday, when we go to see him. I am soo glad that he is coming back!

gabriel - Are you in bed? I hope so! You should be taking it easy!
Enjoy the A&W! You earned it. :)
