It's here..................

Remember last week when I mentioned waiting for my way cool ebay purchase? Well, it's here! I am so excited and as usual, I'm home alone with no one to share my joy.
I have been collecting toys for a couple of years now. Mostly toys from my childhood, but anything that strikes my fancy, really. I gave myself a $20 limit, so it makes it hard to indulge in my passion.
My latest purchase was an Enemy Visitor, from the V tv series, circa 1984. I have been looking for one for a few years now, and the last one that I found on ebay went over $150.00 - way out of my price range.
I finally found one one ebay last month. At $22.99 with shipping, it came in just over budget. Today, it arrived! He is sitting (quite regally) on the shelf along side my Glinda doll, and the Pilsbury dough boy.
I love V, and have been waiting for my action figure like a little kid at Christmas. With all of the crap going on lately, this is just what I needed.
Anyway, must go now, my action figure awaits..........

Remember the old guy in Toy Story 2?

"Don't touch. It's not to be played with. You play with it, you ruin it!"

Welcome home, Martin!

I remember V! Wasn't it great! Do you have Star Wars figures too?

todemesne - I only have a couple of Han Solo action figures. They're not vintage, just a couple of years old. I do have a very cool Yoda lamp in my living room, though. He has eyes that light up....My kids hate it, I love it. This is my 1st V doll, hoping to get more.

I loved that show...I gave up collecting all the old nostalgia things, as I moved so often it just became a pain in the ass... my last remaining collection is my Man From UNCLE book collection, hard bound, paperback and comics...missing #5(something about a vampire, I think) in the paperback, so keep your eyes peeled for me!!!

being good to ourselves often makes buying a toy now and then an absolute necessity! I found a collection of hand carved primitive dolls previously belonging to an old hermit man. They are about an inch tall, almost featureless and ideal for spooky doll art. Also, this is way back, I bought a plastic doll sold at carnivals back in early 50' with feather coming out of her boobs, from her hair, they called them hootchy cootchy dolls. Ok, ok. I have bought an innocent stuffed animal once in a while which my grandson usually runs off with.

You're adorable!

The only collection I have is Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I have several dolls, all the DVDs, CDs, video games and a replica of the original slayer cross that Angel gave Buffy in the first episode.

I'm so lame. All I have is one of them goofy little Captain Jack Sparrow looking like a South Park guy from McDonalds.

Although I'm thinking of collecting figures from Nightmare Before Christmas and The Corpse Bride.

Ah ha, Biddie, you peeked! Your V guy is only worth $499 dollars now!!!

See most of you are either way cooler or way geekier than I am. I collect jewelery. *yawn*

diana - I would LOVE to see your little dolls. I'm into anything that catches my eye- most of it is strange. I wonder how many people have a collection like yours?

nonny - how did I know? My daughter has a Buffy collection that I have added to over the years. Sh eahs the cross, all of the DVD's, some autographed photos....It keeps expanding...

cindydianne- I used to have some spectacular jewelry...You are WAY cooler than me, I am a geek at heart, and I know it.

4D- I loved my childhood so much that I'm still there.

Heidi - I wanted that Captain Jack doll in the worst way.....I think that you should indulge in the Tim Burton thing. KK has a couple of his dolls..They're a bit creepy, but not as much as my 'Living Dead' doll. I love her, and she gives KC nightmares...
The box was already opened, and I put everything back oh-so carefully...Martin is still safe

KK and I have similar taste in creepy Tim Burton stuff! (And movie stars!)

That Living Dead doll kind of gives me nighmares too. Except that she also makes me laugh. Scaryfunny!

Hi Life, or Something Like It,
If the “Enemy Visitor” is making you ecstatic, FANTASTIC! I’d always wanted a “Magic 8 Ball” and my parents, for some reason, never allowed me to have one. About two months ago, I finally purchased one, and I love it! I’m sure I appreciate it more now than I would have as a kid. The next toy I want is an “Etch a Sketch”.

It’s great that there’s still a “kid” in all of us!

Biddie said...

miss litzi - we have a magic 8 ball. my 11 year old has the Sponge Bob version. I'm thinking of an etch a sketch, too. I want to get Rock em Sock em robots for Hubby this Christmas.
I asked my Dad once ( he was about 60 ) when he started to feel like a grown up. He said that he would let me know when he got there. Words to live by.

ldbug said...

I'll have to look that one up...no idea who the Enemy Visitor is!!!

Well, have fun, kiddo;-)

Hi Life, or Something Like It,
Your Dad sounds like a very wise person. I’m approaching 60, but don’t feel I’ve grown-up yet. The only time I “feel my age” is when I notice the lines and wrinkles on my face and body that didn’t use to be there……

Biddie said...

miss litzi - he truly was wise...

the girl - then you know what I'm talking about!!!!

I have a signed album by DEVO. You interested?

Biddie said...

dj andi - Are you kidding me!?? My Hubby loves Devo! Don't play with me, my heart can't take it!!!

DJ Andi said...

Not kidding. They were at a mall record store (the album with the flower pot hats - can't think of the name). I've always been way ahead of my time in music (hence DJing to support my habit). I think I was 16 and wore these spider woman glasses. To describe them was to think of how spiders eyes are usually shown with points going up. Anyway, I had them on and my Devo album ready to sign. I can't rember which Bob said "hey, cool glasses can I have them?" I said, "I'll trade for your hat". He said, "no way" and I said the same. They all signed my album and it's sitting in the garage with all my other fabulous albums from the late 70's early 80's. I was into everything.
